See two of the UK’s brightest new poets before they hit the big time! Amy Lee Tempest and T.M/O are two of the strongest new voices in spoken word.
Burnley-based Northerner Amy Lee Tempest has emerged from the local poetry scene with an exciting repertoire of personal poetry. Her experimental poetry sequence, ‘Wallpaper’, was nominated for the Lancashire Arts Festival award, and later exhibited and performed as part of Burnley’s arts festival ‘Openings’. She was the poet in residence for Burnley’s Literary Festival and was a guest at Scotland’s literary rave, Sonnet Youth.
Southerner T.M/O, who currently lives in Leeds, focuses on connection and exploration of the hypocrises we sit with and fights for us all to express ourselves more. She has been featured in WordsBy, Unicef Next Gen and Thrive Ldns Mental health campaign and has performed at Blur The Lines (Leeds), Moetry and Say No More in London. The performer is already working on her debut spoken-word EP.
T talks openly about her turbulent past, and the motivation that gives her to make the future much brighter. She believes we are all the same and if we could communicate, look inward and fit ourselves in this mess we call 'now', that the world could change for the better.
