Word Central Open Mic Poetry and Spoken Word.

Tuesday 12th December, 6.00pm - 7.45pm (doors open 5.40pm) at Manchester Central Library, St. Peter’s Square, Manchester M2 5PD.

Hosted by Tony Curry with special guest Rose Condo.
Our special guest Rose Condo is a Canadian poet and educator based in Prestwich, England. She was longlisted for the inaugural Jerwood Compton Poetry Fellowship, has won numerous poetry slams, and performed at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Her poetry show, The Geography of Me, won the 2021 Buxton Fringe Spoken Word Award, whilst The Empathy Experiment received critical acclaim at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe and won Best Spoken Word Show at the 2019 Gtr Manchester Fringe. How to Starve an Artist was Best Spoken Word Show runner-up in the 2017 Saboteur Awards. Rose’s second poetry collection with Flapjack Press, How to Find Where You Belong, is available now.

N.B. Open mic slots are 3 minutes per performer – it is essential that you stay within this timeframe to avoid the event overrunning.
Performance slots are allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis from the stated booking time.
If they are already filled you will be offered a place on the reserve list.
