Open Mic Event

Puzzle Hall Community Pub is the same old Puzzle Hall Inn with a new lease of life as a Community Benefit Society. It is well known as a Music venue.

On the fourth Tuesday of the month the music stops and we pay attention to the spoken word. There has been poetry at the Puzzle Hall since the Nineties, with breaks when the pub was closed. Tuesday nights are usually very quiet.

In 2024 we have become a small seminar group bringing work we love, and want to discuss.

There are many kinds of poetry nights: poetry slams, formal invited poets with an audience, open mics, spoken word events. We have become another kind of gathering: talking about poetry, why we write, what we read, themes and differences between writers, motivation to write, how we started, style and substance.

These are democratic seminars, where nobody is ,The Expert, and everybody's opinion matters.

Join us if you want to share your ideas, read your own work or poetry you like and listen to others.

Entry: Free

Time: 8:00pm (Pub is open. Come earlier to chat and meet others)
