Over land

Where friendships grew

Yet they say her poetry

Is sweet

Like morning song

But the crocheted words

Laid on the page

Fall from the dominion

Of a tailor made

Twisted stitched up tongue

Dipped in the blackness

Of her gut

Polished by the bile

Of love lost

And never won

Done!

In a dried up well

To land on soft ground, silent

I wish that I could count

My wasted hours

So that I could write

Instead I dictate to you 

As I fall on other stones

TIGHT SHOES

At night she puts the tight shoes by her bed

And dreams of running

When she awakes in the morning

She gets out of the safety of her bed

Puts on the tight shoes

Just to remind her that she’s walking

She used to nip her self

Scratch and cut her self

Look in the mirror for hours

And not see her self

Wondering where she had gone

Now she puts on tight sho...

Below bombed ruins

The cellar

Is fragile

Dark, ever colder.

 

Now the tunnel

Grows longer

With each breathless hour.

 

Sweet rain drops seep

Heavy handed on my shoulders…

 

Above the booted Jackal

Baits his prey.

Hungry, lusting, closer.

 

I dare not cry.

In case Mother cries.
