moon and i
You sank my sadness
I am sorry it gave you stars
I never meant to
But I guess that's what illness
does to our dears
I was selfish
I never noticed
your tainted hurts
You were always too good
to be true to me
I never dared to bore
the weight of you
having a bruised past
You just glow differently to me
to me, you are the most treasured
and the beautiful
And it's just lame that you consider
your most beautiful assets to be your scars
I am sorry it gave you stars
I never meant to
But I guess that's what illness
does to our dears
I was selfish
I never noticed
your tainted hurts
You were always too good
to be true to me
I never dared to bore
the weight of you
having a bruised past
You just glow differently to me
to me, you are the most treasured
and the beautiful
And it's just lame that you consider
your most beautiful assets to be your scars

The title conjures up a quiet reflective feeling. The more I read this the meaning seems to wash over me a little at a time. You leave a lot open for the reader to interpret, but that's a poet's choice.
