Positive events from poetry
Can you recall the most positive event in your life, which has happened because of poetry?
(I thought we could all do with a more uplifting thread if we felt like writting)
So who's first.

Winston, poetry is so much a part of my life, a single event hardly emerges. But - big 'but' - my children have always appreciated my work and have encouraged me to write, and TO SHARE, saying: 'Our friends would love your work, Mum' . Their high valuation of my poetry, in all genres, has been STARLIGHT to me. My husband too has been supportive, but never quite as vocal as my kids.

Difficult to say , poetry has been in my life in one way or another since being a little girl ... so was it my dad reading to us? was it me and my sisters playing out and reciting poems? or could it be meeting pete crompton ? :) i am feeling generous , pete can have the shout today .

Writing poems has given me the opportunity to share and listen to poetry in the friendly accepting community, that is Write Out Loud. Since retiring I have made new friends and met so many wonderful talented people who have enriched my life with the love of poetry.

How many girlfriends have you met through poetry?
Advice gladly accepted.
If you're at Hebden tomorrow, perhaps you can give me the answer.
Poetry has helped fill many otherwise empty hours; helped me express things that I couldn't say out loud; and allowed me to realise that, even though a complete tosser at school, I could at least put the odd feeling/idea down on paper.
