Remembering
On this warm summer evening I am thinking of Write Out Loud names long since departed from our community and wondering how they are?
Stuart Buck
Ann Foxglove
Winston Plowes
Sian Howell
Colin Hill
and many more?

I particularly remember Cynthia Buell Thomas - and you are right to mention her, Graham. Originally from Canada, she was a regular reader of her own, superb poetry at Write Out Loud's open-mic poetry events at Sale's Waterside Arts centre over many years.
Not just a consummate poet and performer, she was a rock-solid member of the online community that is our poetry blogs, and ever-generous with her support for, and encouragement of, her fellow 'bloggers'. On at least two occasions her work won our Poem of the Week award, including one that magnificently evokes the bucolic nature of her family's farm in Eastern Ontario.
You can find more about her by reading that poem and the accompanying interview with Cynthia, from 2017.
If anyone reads this and knows of what happened to Cynthia, we would love to hear, as we tried to find out for quite some time after she disappeared from these pages, very sadly.

Thanks for doing this, Graham. A grand idea.

Winston Plowes is doing very well. He has just completed a poet in residence at a bunch of schools which was well received by all. Probably too busy to get round to posting here.

I am pleased to hear of Winston's success, Freda; and unsurprised by it.
