setlist
hello,
ive been given 10 minutes at a fairly big poetry night in wrexham next week and im trying to put together a setlist (of sorts).
i reckon i can whizz through 5 poems alongside some wine drinking and general chit chat.
if you have the time, i'd love to know which of my poems you feel would go down best in a live setting.
im not looking for a love in, or critcism (though i welcome both on my profile and poems) but i have come to enjoy the views people have on here and value them.
i cant offer anything in return but if you have a spare 5 minutes id be much obliged.
ive stuck this in general rather than anywhere else to get it seen, if you feel it needs moving id be more than happy.
cheers,
stu

Hi Stu, I've read through the poems you have on here and though I like them all, I could only see Lawn and Voices in a live setting. Not much help I'm afraid as you'd already selected them. First time I've read Lawn and I liked it a lot, reminds me of Bukowski's Ham on Rye.

a fine compliment! i read ham on rye years before getting to know bukowski as a poet, and though he wrote some other good work as a novelist (not pulp though, its awful...) i dont think he surpassed it. he worked much better semi-autobiographically. thanks for your input, much appreciated. i still have four days to fret so its all good!

I don't know how it would go over live but I really enjoy reading Sherry. I come back to it pretty often to re-read it. You may consider that one. Good luck!

Thanks! I like that one too. To be honest, I'm not sure how any of them will go over live, but I'm a Buck, and we never quit until were booed mercilessly!
