Biography

Hi I\'m Bernadette ... I have been interested in poetry and creative writing for many years though have not produced my own work much . I wrote some poems in the eighties and then not again until 2009 ! I consider myself to be a novice and profess to have no educational knowledge regards poetry and creative writing so what I write is purely from my own thoughts and ideas. I have entered several blogs on write out loud and have been welcomed and encouraged by the positive feedback that I have received so thank you all for that. I have a son and daughter and my daughter has blessed me with four beautiful grandsons. Their ages range from 7yrs down to 8 months so they are a lively bunch and keep me busy ! i will continue to enjoy reading blogs and do think you are all so very good at what you produce so happy blogging everyone....

LIFE\'S PUZZLE Life is one huge puzzle from birth to death Actions, words, thoughts, emotions all fuelled by each incoming breath Until the end when you breathe no more and you go knocking on Heaven\'s door You would think you have been lucky if each piece fitted into place That you would be unlucky if you went searching to fill each empty space But then have you been lucky if all falls into place, like Heaven on earth everything perfect since birth I think not my friend for you will not have truly lived Better your life has been an unsolved puzzle that puzzles you to the end Better that the pieces didn\'t fit, you can believe me my friend For I am wise and watchful of our life upon this earth and I know the puzzles worth I\'d much rather end my life with the puzzle so unsolved than end it with my empty soul that lacks it\'s ray of gold Life is your ray of gold that is in you to the end, it fills your soul as you go along my friend So don\'t feel unhappy if your pieces didn\'t fit Rejoice and be merry for you had a life and lived it.....

Hi Bernadette - so nice to have you back. So sorry to hear about your cat. I know that we can love a cat just as much as a person. I cried for two weeks when my tabby Sylvester died. I now have Gemma, twenty would you believe! She's hanging on in there! Don't know how I'll feel when she goes! Anyway, keep well and stick around! xxx

Hello Bernadette, you asked about Haiku.
The true answer would probably take a couple of pages to describe it in its purest form, but on the whole, here in the UK it is taken to mean a three line poem with five syllables in the first and third lines and seven in the second. The lines should relate to each other in some way, as Dave's does quite well. Hope this helps

Hi again Bernie! I always felt it was enough to let the poems flow out, then let them be. Just recently I've started reading more poetry. It can get quite depressing sometimes when you read wonderful stuff, but then you get inspired (hopefully!) I do think I "overwrite", put too much info in, lead the reader into what to think and how to interpret the poem. I do want to try and leave more for the reader to do. We're all learning, after all! But I feel (typical gemini!) like too poets split down the middle at the moment! Take care - done any more decorating lately? ;-) xxxx

Wow Bernadette, three grandsons and another on the way! My daughter was like that, having three girls in a row, but now she has evened it up a bit with two boys. We thought she'd finished after the first boy, but no...! They are all marvellous though of course, and we have 6 grandkids altogether, our other daughter has just one girl.

Hi - I just could not find any poems in the others - they were still almost unbelievable for me & I wrote at the time, of one of them, that it actually seemed to be more real than real life & that one is really capable of logical thought processes within a dream - just like in real life, only here you can do whatever you like. That was the tragedy of this dream - that I could have asked any question & been given the answer (hence the title) but I couldn't think of a single thing to ask - what a waste. all the best. B

Hi - "the guy with all the answers" - Thanks for the v kind comments. This is an amalgam of 2 lucid dreams I had (my previous poem was the first) - although I had been trying for years, they came out of the blue. I've only ever had 5 or 6 in total. I wrote them all down, but I dont think the others have much poetic potential. all the best. B
