The Path The hand of fate can touch so coldly on a life. Pulling one ahead without thought of the heart’s fragility. And why still does it leave me hopeful, when all I feel is pain. Is this life’s mystery, or the secret to humanity’s endurance? To struggle without reason or encouragement Toward some unknowable paradise we’ll never see? Or could it be that very despair, so deep and heavy, wherein we find what matters most. We all hold in us a piece of the divine, trapped by mortal bonds. And it can be hard to discern whether the suffering we feel is the echo of our earthly or infinite selves. For we are ever unknowable to others but more tragically to ourselves. The path is long and it can lead nowhere as easily as to the fruition of your dreams. The only sure truth is that on that path lies everything, and you can only find it through putting one foot in front of the other. Carry what you will; whether it be beliefs, convictions or ideals. But know that some burdens can be so heavy you may be unable to take a single step further. The path may lead you to friends, lovers, successes and failures but howsoever our routes intersect or parallel that of others, each of us walks alone. Just keep walking. And if you no longer have faith in yourself, have faith in the path. Because we only truly lose everything when we stop looking.
