Biography
I'm a junior at Emory University, double majoring in Economics and Creative Writing. I've been writing poetry since I was eight but only started to share my work in 2017 through online blog posts and spoken word platforms. I idolize poets like Lang Leav, Emily Skaja, Alicia Mountain and Rupi Kaur, and aspire to create an impact on the world, just like they have. I'm presently working on a chapbook that I hope to publish by the beginning of next year.
Eight Unsettling Couplets
From the second my foot slithered out of the blanket to cool its scarlet sunburns again I knew I may never find peace; I’ll be stuck counting sheep between dreams again and again I knew that there were parts of my body gasping to breathe in full breaths again that also my nightlamp just would not stop blinking so I pulled the plug out its socket again and I knew my fingers still trembled at 90° conscious to speak in whole words again so I settled. I tightened the screws on my teeth in case my lips started to twitch again I could hear the thoughts in my head, racing, struggling to find their pace again so I got out of bed and drove in my jammies at 90 on the highway to Wendy’s again.
