Biography

The Wordsmith Highlander, known simply as "Highlander" among his peers, is a figure of quiet contemplation and profound insight. With eyes that seem to hold the wisdom of ages, he carries himself with a gentle yet commanding presence. Clad in simple attire, he exudes an air of authenticity and humility that belies his extraordinary talent. His weathered hands, calloused from years of penning verses, betray the depth of his commitment to his craft. In conversation, he is measured and thoughtful, choosing his words with the precision of a master craftsman. Yet, beneath his reserved exterior lies a passion that ignites when he speaks of poetry, a flame that burns brightly in every line he writes.

Gin Lament

In the shadows of the bottle's embrace, Lies a mother lost, in a darkened space, Helen, her name, a bitter taste, In memories tainted by the past's disgrace. Pushed away by her own hand, A fragile bond, now turned to sand, Drinking deep to drown the pain, Yet finding solace in the pouring rain. Blame laid heavy upon your brow, A burden too great, to disavow, You turned your anger upon me, As I struggled, trying to break free. Goodbye became the only choice, As I silenced the echo of your voice, Walking away from the chaos within, Leaving behind what could have been. Helen, dear mother, lost to the night, Wrapped in darkness, out of sight, I mourn the woman you used to be, Yet I must say goodbye, and set myself free.
