London and Art
It’s a good a place to cross as any
London Eye destination of many
But not us, we seek Southbank for sure
It’s just other attractions have more allure
Art and creativity our magnetic attraction
Walk past tourists, our vision abstraction
Dali Universe to be our first port of call
Give ourselves all morning taking in it all
She pushes a melting clock it swings with ease
Hanging upon its branch like caught in a breeze
Picasso’s in the basement, I wonder if he’d mind?
Playing second fiddle to Dali seems a tad unkind
Prolific Pablo had time to create stunning pottery
We’ll buy some ourselves when we win the lottery
Taking our leave, east we leisurely make our way
Stopping taking photos, nourished at riverside café
The Tate invitingly awaits our afternoon pleasure
Home to modernist, abstract, surrealist treasure
Start at the top and work down apparently our plan
Artfully rusty Citroen and genuinely a full trash can
Canvasses painted purest black…even some Andy
Everywhere we look there’s more artistic eye candy
After two floors we know we’ll have to return
As to gallery shop we decide it’s time to adjourn
Exquisite sensory overload happily collectively
Further viewing impossible in any way objectively
As out into daylight we finally decide to venture
Excitedly we already plan our next artistic adventure
