GRETA'S BACK!

I see Greta Thunberg's back online

On both climate change and the virus...

Talking about how it would be fine

To have the two combined inspire us

To make this world a better place

In terms that suggest many things

That keep control of the human race

But not those pulling her strings!

I'm always intrigued to note how often questioning anything these days rarely, if ever, gets answers to the questions posed. I'm reminded of the old political training for interviews which follows
that pattern and includes responding to a question with a question or
an attack on the questioner's motives. ?

Well said, John. This 'puppet on a string' thing is, I'm guessing, some kind of internet meme. And are we by association now disowning Sandie Shaw's great 1960s Eurovision triumph? I do hope not! Sometimes you wonder, just who are the puppets?

I'm with John, regardless of the source of her message; it is that we should think about (and try to limit) the negative impact we're having on the planet. That seems to me to be a sensible thing.

The virus situation has shown us there are other ways of working and living; and perhaps we can learn something and take the positives from this experience. Fingers crossed anyway.

I like your poem though, nicely written and an enquiring mind as ever MC. Thanks for sharing!

Is what she is trying to do bad? Is ridiculing her good? Strangely, it seems most of her critics are men. Feeling challenged by a little girl, perhaps?
I applaud Greta. If she is being manipulated, I applaud those who are doing the manipulating.

Po...having been around a long time, with many years in a public
service career, I maintain an open enquiring mind. To that end, I
have always been curious about the absence of any mention in the
world media of who is managing the arrangements and the expense
incurred to facilitate and fund young Greta's global adventures.

Greta is a strange phenomenon . I wondered what she would say about the virus.
Interesting poem.
