My Rhymatic Friend

 

I do like doing things different

In my own unconventional way

Inventing new words, absurd and unheard

And looking for new ones to say

 

Yes I do like doing things different

Unconventionally day after day

I like me like that, so's the cat and his hat

We don't care what others may say

 

Doctor Suess had it right when he said

To conventional-minders forget-em

It's cheerers who cheer you are those to pull near you

Don't let those who'll pull you down let-em

 

What fascinates me as the writer

I had no idea where this would go

The rhyme chose it's path and it's own aftermath

And pulled me along in it's tow

 

This rhymatic thing pulled at myself

Making use of whatever it could find

From unconventional I to Doctor Seuss my ally

'Til we both became nicely entwined

 

So thankyou my rhymatic friend

For surprising us with what you penned

Yes you did wake us up no idea where we'd go

And you've now brought us all to the end
