PAVEMENT ARTIST
The lines below are a result of an incident just witnessed in the street outside my flat.
I've just been leaning out of my bathroom window
Taking a breath of much needed air
When a young woman with a dog paused below
Looking on as her mutt did its business there.
I watched, somehow knowing she wasn't prepared
To clean up when the doggy deed was complete
And sure enough, when done, she left it lying there
And hurried on her way up the dog soiled street
"Thanks very much", I called out in disgust.
She looked up as if to say "Do you mean me?"
Waving vaguely as if she was unable to act
Determined to ignore what we could both see......
Leaving behind the spread of brown mess
That was left by her pet who just did what dogs doo
For someone to slip on, get infected or hurt,
All because she had no mind to clear up its poo!!
But maybe,.,,just maybe...she might bring a bag
The next time she takes her pooch out for a stroll;
But then again, i doubt it; it seems this dog-walker
Clearly has no care for that dog-owner's role.

JC - I've never owned a dog myself but members of the family have
and it is a matter of common courtesy to others to possess the
means to clean up the dog's mess - especially in an urban environment. I've taken "family" dogs for walks and it is a matter
of seconds to wipe away the goo using a plastic bag over the hand.
Fastidiousness and disregard for the environment have no place in a dog owner's mindset !?
