Hand In Hand
Close your eyes and kiss goodnight to safety in your bed,
If trust in truth is "King," then weep because, "The King is dead,"
Shake the dust of waking sleep firmly from your weary head,
Swim a lake of mingled blood before we sit down and, "Break bread,"
The, "Black and blue," of centuries rests upon our kin,
For no better reason than the colour of their skin,
Some pay no attention to the beauty held within,
And they must seek redemption for the measure of their sin,
It's a long hard road for sure, but if walk it hand in hand,
Keep our hearts pure, and if we fall, help each other stand,
There's a good chance that we can help each other understand,
What it takes to live in love and peace and unity across this land.
