DESECRATING CHURCHILL'S STATUE
What to make of the desecration of Churchill's statue? Perhaps it's best to think that WSC would have merely
jammed his cigar firmly in one corner of his mouth and growled "Let 'em do what they think best. That's the
democracy that I and this country fought to preserve."
But there is a lingering contemptuous distaste for the ignorance of the fact that without that old man and his
pugnacious priceless leadership, there would be no freedom now to protest - to daub - to desecrate - or to dismantle.

I’ve always felt this is simply historical Denial and shows a lack of maturity in accepting what we once were. What next? Tear down Boudicca and her Daughters for the slaughter at Londinium, Verulamium and Camulodunum? Nelson, for the killing of Neapolitan prisoners of war? Likewise, Henry V? What about banning Kipling? Twain!
Denial.
