If I could form my feelings into words

If I could form my feelings into words

It’d be different from anything you’ve ever heard.

If I could form my feelings into words

I’d tell you about the first time I saw your eyes because your gaze gave me feelings I’d never realize.

If I could form my feelings into words

I’d tell you about the first time you held my hand because I finally understood the things I could withstand.

If I could form my feelings into words

I’d tell you about the first time you held me in your arms because I just couldn’t resist your dashing charms.

If I could form my feelings into words

I’d tell you about our first dance

Because man oh man did you have me in a trance.

If I could form my feelings into words

I’d tell you about the first text I sent you because I was so petrified and nervous I secretly hoped my message didn’t get through.

If I could form my feelings into words

I’d tell you about our first kiss

Because right then I knew your lips were something I’d miss.

As the sun goes up

My guards go down

As I wake up to the words you say when no one’s around.

As you call me your queen

My eyes fill with beams

Because your patience for me is something sight unseen.

With every hmph and every umm

I’m more certain there‘s nothing we can’t overcome.

The fact that you’re so oblivious

Drives me delirious but at the end of the day it’s not too serious.

Every night as I stare at the walls

I’m eagerly waiting to receive one of your calls.

Your quirky smile and your horrible jokes

Might be one of your attributes I like the most.

As we joke about our future I sometimes hope it’ll come true

Because as I’m trying to form my feelings into words I’m trying to tell you

I kind of sort of really absolutely positively head over heels like you.

Doris the repetition of the title of this poem gives it a powerful rhythm. Very subtle way of conveying the expression of your feelings.

I think you did a pretty great job of forming those feelings into words in a quietly unique way. I especially liked "Your quirky smile and your horrible jokes / Might be one of your attributes I like the most. ". Great writing Doris. I hope it works/worked out for you both.
