Wisest Man in Egypt

I will be the wisest man in Egypt, all my teachers say so
One day a peasant comes to me crying, half a hysteric, muttering something about where ever he sees there are only infinities
Whether to the heavens or in his self
There is nothing concrete
I point him to my teacher, the Goddess of Wisdom for whom there is everything, the atoms and space,
Everything is in his body  and his body beyond everything

I am the wisest man in Egypt, all the people say so
One day A Pharoah comes to me raving, half a lunatic muttering that same blabber about infinities
I ignore Isis at this point she keeps looking starry eyed at me like a dame fishing for compliments
The Pharoah is given some wine as I advise him not to think much on this,
Be content with what you know and accept that there is much that we do not know

I was the wisest man in Egypt, The Sands all whisper so
One day a young man called Moses came to me, talking calmly about this voice from the sky
The fullstop to all infinities he says
My eyes start brimming with tears and my lungs start moving as if they were laughing.
This sweet boy will never know what he does not know
What can he know beyond what his mind wants him to know
Isis calls me from the corner of the street
It is time I go back to counting the atoms in my hand like all the other wise men of Egypt
All Mediocre little parts of a non existent whole

You are quite right Abdul, The heat does make all the wise men seem as raving lunatics, while the lunatics become heads of state.

Thanks for your thoughts,

In Egypt's land the heat can often play cruel tricks on the mind. A fool often play the wise man or a prophet and wise man plays a knave. Its all a mirage.

A thought provoking poem.
