My Purple Hat (Inspired by the original by Erma Bombeck)

https://www.facebook.com/ChangeYourThoughtsToday/videos/10154389931406439/

Age three she looks in the mirror and sees a Disney Queen

Age eight she looks again and sees a young wannabe teen

Age fifteen she looks and sees an imperfect, impossible case

too fat, too thin, too tall, too short, braces and a spotty face

Age twenty she looks and hides behind her made up complexion

too fat, too thin, too tall, too short, she wears a mask of perfection

Age thirty she looks and sees her concerns but she does not dwell

too fat, too thin, too tall, too short, she gives thanks that all is well

Age forty she looks and sees a woman giving life her best shot

too fat, too thin too tall, too short, she is happier with her lot

Age fifty she looks and sees a woman seeking harmony not strife

searching for contentment, striving to find peace with her life

Age sixty she looks and sees a woman grateful for each new day

she revels in the challenges and adventures that come her way

Age seventy she looks and sees a wise woman reconciled at last

she lives for the moment and reflects on memories of her past

Age eighty she doesn't bother to look, no care what anyone may say

confident and care free, grabs her purple hat, ready to seize the day

I hope this ok to post on here, if not I will remove.
I mentioned it earlier it in an earlier comment to moon.girl.
Reading the original of this poem gave me the confidence to write my own version and to start sharing my poems.

I think it couldn't be better written. Experiences more so the same, not much different, I guess.
I liked it and i quite agree with it too.
