Garden Of Lust
From a bed of roses
To a bed of nettles
Smooth satin sheets
Becoming metal
Tender whispersÂ
On plumped up pillows
Now bitter pills
And weeping willows
Love was taken
Not returned
Lust's a lesson
Never learned
From a bed of roses
To a bed of nettles
Smooth satin sheets
Becoming metal
Tender whispersÂ
On plumped up pillows
Now bitter pills
And weeping willows
Love was taken
Not returned
Lust's a lesson
Never learned
Many Thanks to Amatul, Po, Don, Keith, Leon and Shiva for your kind comments and likes.
I appreciate you reading this piece?
Delicate, tender, yet hard-hitting! Absolutely love the imagery you used to switch between utopian romance and forthright reality.

A thin line demarcated the boundaries between the two L's. It's all a matter of intentions I think, else both are expressed well. Creative.

Good one Ruth! Lust and love are often confused, this poem shows the outcome of too much of one and not enough of the other. Thankfully, we have poetry to sort it all out. ?
