The Photograph
They say that the camera never lies
But it does when you hide behind a smile
It cannot see inside your mind
The anguish that you quietly hide
The photograph that's on the shelf
Does not reveal your mental health
The torment that you always feel
The feelings that just makes it real
If you zoom into those eyes
Take a look and see what’s deep inside
Imagine what's behind that face
In places where there’s no escape
Hear those clicks of the shutter lens
Each click a frame that masks the pain
The flash that blinds as it hits your face
Captures each expression as memories it makes
Life is like a contrast range
Some parts have light and others have shade
So when you see a photograph now
Take a deeper look because you would never know
