Shakespeare
O, this wonderful and worthy writer,
He examined life to make it brighter.
He wrote plays of comedy, tragedy and history,
Yet much of his life is quite a mystery.
He coined many words and many phrases;
And to this day his work amazes,
Whether we may weep or be made to smile,
Discovering his works is truly worthwhile.
And it seems to have been his lifelong mission
To explore into the human condition.
And in trying to understand the human mind,
He unearthed deep secrets for us to find.
He surely made a lifetime of devotion
To write of all feelings and emotions.
We find love, anger and ambition,
With joy, envy and suspicion.
When we know his works it is not hard
To know why we’re all proud of our fantastic bard.
He lived long ago but is not just for his age,
For he is still great today – so read each page.
And with a depth and greatness in his speeches,
Into to the soul he surely reaches.
And so for all time will his works now last,
And without doubt shall not be surpassed.

Stuart, an excellent poem which tells us who this incredible man was. His legacy is remarkable and this poem does him justice. Keith
