75 PERCENT---a poem by O.L. Buzzerd
At my old age
I am operating
at about 75%
most of the time
some days
it drops down to 50
there are days when
it's just a struggle
to walk or move
inertia is my style
sore and stiff
is the best description
everything hurts
the old legs done give out
pain is more common
than not
the knees pop
the back aches
arthritis works its way around
pickin out the joints
it wants to occupy for the day
it don't pay to get old
but even 50% of livin'
is better than zero
at that point you're deceased
the only good thing about zero is
when ya get down to zero
nothin' hurts anymore.

d.k.,
A lament to growing old which so many of us will join with you. Your symptoms are universal but you describe them well. Have you reached the walking stick stage yet.
Good poem
