SLEEPING BEAUTY
SLEEPING BEAUTY
must've been
sleep walkin'
when you came in
sweet talkin'
over i was
snowed
with a promise
and rose
was warned
about your kind
how could i be
so blind
was it that
enchanting disguise
the wink
in your eye
the lies
on your lips
that had my heart
doing flips
James Dean
style
that drove
me wild
put so well
together
should've known
better
didn't wanna
see
beyond the
veneered teeth
when the cracks
showed through
saw the
real you
your colors
of true
no longer
held a pink hue
those perfect
looks
just a cover
on a book
the pages
inside
nothin' but a
picture slide
got cuaght up
in the romance
of the pomp
and circumstance
a girlish
fantasy
had me swept
off my feet
you spun me
around
was falling...falling
down
when i woke
with a start
saw you were
playing a part
just spiining
yarn
with a cunning
charm
your pick-up
schtick
was a poisonous
prick
squeaky wheel
gets the oil
discovered the apple
was spoiled
won't take
a bite
of your offers
tonight
no longer
asleep
or lost in
the beauty

Love this one Cindylee! Brilliant work of art. I live a few miles from where James Dean was born. The community has a huge festival the last weekend in September that normally attracts thousands of people from around the world. Not so sure that will happen this year. Perhaps they will flock to WOL instead. Write on! ?
