The Dragon
In an effort to restore the balance of evil and good
I had many battles to face
One in particular which I well understood
Could leave me dead in this very place
The dragon within that I sought to destroy,
I knew not what power he held
For I was a fool, not but a boy
But my faith kept me calm and compelled
In this long-lasting battle, I came to conclude
That I'd never come out alive
For were I to win, I'd be surely consumed
I could see my fate deep within his eyes
But together we came to a harmonized bliss
He'd sleep while I live out my days
He'd lend me his strength from the deepest abyss
And I would do best to stay out of his way
-Once again, inspired by a Dan Millman book, this time 'The Journeys of Socrates' the story of the life of Dan Millman's mentor. A Beautiful story of finding a more peaceful path. Though best to start at least with his book 'The Way of the Peaceful Warrior'.
"You fight the dragon, you become the dragon"
-Master Kanzaki (quoted from the Journey's of Socrates)
