Did we pass the point of no return

have too many mistakes been made

I wonder what lessons will we learn

will it be worth the price we paid

 

What will we gain from the sacrifice

those lost opportunities of a life time

A whole generation will pay the price

Someone is responsible for this crime

 

Will it be worth it regardless of the cost

every life we tried to save and protect

It is only natural there will be lives lost

did so many lives have to be wrecked

 

It can not just be a matter of life or death

so many elements make a life worth living

If those things are taken away, like breath

in and out, there is taking and there is giving

 

In the hasty eagerness to provide protection

have there been more losers than winners

I sit and contemplate the right direction

will my decision make me a saint or a sinner
