Ode To The Bee
Where would we be without the humble bee?
A question it is timely to pursue,
for it would be the end for you and me;
if they became extinct, we’d die out too.
Our lives depend on what they pollinate,
so treat them well, ensure that they survive,
that we in turn continue to exist.
There should be no debate;
we need to nurture them and see they thrive,
removed from the endangered species list.
Largely unseen, in gardens, woods and fields
they gently buzz, to visit every bloom;
their simple purpose, maximise the yield
so nature can replace what we consume.
And why would we consider them a threat?
They mostly just ignore us in their flight
and go about their business day by day
despite our fears, and yet
we owe them such a debt incurred in spite
of us; a debt we can’t afford to pay.

My full backing on this too, especially with our shared views.
