Not Everyone
I don't believe in fairy tales
Or knights that save the day
I don't believe in happy endings
Or that good things just come your way
They say things will get better, but what happens when they don't
All the people that said they would be there, are the ones who usually won't
When a person truly needs help, and no one lends a hand.
Its like staring at an hour glass that's running out of sand
"don't give up" they always say
And pat you on the back
Just Put your hands together and pray
And just be thankful you woke up another day
But What about the children that become sick and die?
And What about plane crashes that kill hundreds in the sky?
On their way to say hello, without a chance to say goodbye
Some people are too broken for the healing to begin
Its like running in a race that you know is impossible to win
Not everyone gets better, as I've finally come to see
No one's promised tomorrow and there is no guarantee.

A dose of realism that is strangely refreshing in its depiction of the
unpredictable and the unwelcome aspects of life (and death). Good one..
