Her Sunset Came Too Early

There was only one for me

She never was replaced

Her going was a very hell

Worst times I ever faced

We've all seen suns go down

Images burned in our minds

My eyes blurring as she set

A woman a man rarely finds

No cloud marred her eye

Her nature too open-wide

Proud I was to know her

Gaily make her my bride

I remember her blue skies

Sunlight lancing that hair

Moonlight in those eyes

Outlook fragrant and fair

She shone so short a time

A candle burnt down low

A short flash of radiance

Only a lover would know

She sank on the horizon

A moment saw her gone

Lingering rays so fragile

Of hope there was none

Her sister lights her grave

A bright sibling in the sky

Two stars in the heavens

Suns to remember her by

We've all seen suns go down

Images burned in our minds

My eyes blurring as she set

A woman a man rarely finds

This is beautiful. Although I don't believe in, the one for some folk, there's a lingering sadness about this though, it makes you want to hug the writer.........

Beautiful, and loved all the light metaphors, sunlight, moonlight, cnadle, flash of radiance, lingering rays etc. A very clever way to describe a person who possessed qualities which lit up a life, but which set to soon. Loved it.
