Our Christmas Tree
We head out to Crabtree farm
To pick out our perfect tree
This is easier said than done
So much choice, we never agree
When I have got my own way
After all Mums do know best
A challenge to fit it in the car
Like the old Krypton Factor test
Say hello to the little donkey
Gets our attention every time
Rub our hands, stamp our feet
This year, no warming gluhwein
Once home we unwrap the tree
Not too big or small, just right
Undo the tangle of fairy lights
As always it is a bit of a fight
Dig out the baubles and tinsel
Christmas songs play non stop
Dress the tree as we sing along
Finish with the star for the top
The house is ready for Christmas
When lights are lit for the first time
With a cosy glow from the log fire
Finally, it's time for the mulled wine
