A new group of black poets of African descent will be staging a showcase on Zoom on Friday 11 December. Obsidian Foundation is a foundation for black poets of African descent, who often face multiple barriers of access to literary resources and professional development, launched by award-winning poet Nick Makoha, pictured.

The showcase from 7pm to 8.30pm will feature Nick Makoha with Malika Booker and Theresa Lola, plus 10 emerging poets who took part in the first Obsidian Foundation week-long writing retreat that was held earlier this year. Spaces must be reserved in advance and may be limited. You can book here
