Solitary

entry picture

"Solitary" one of the poems I wrote as part of my project "Voces Amigas" (Friendly Voices) read by my friend and poet-artist Karen Newell.

How could I

ever forget

the beautiful truth they hide…

if every time

I look at them

I find my soul

embracing yours…?

How could I

ever forget

If every time

I stand alone….

Naked before their gaze…

Like star dust

They open up

A distant world

we all once knew…

A universe of love,

that never

passed us by…

Of unborn fears,

Of timeless youth?

How could I

ever forget

the beautiful truth they hide…

My soul embracing yours…

My nakedness before their gaze…

Our distant world…

Our universal love…

Our unborn fears...

Our timeless youth…?

How could I…

Ever forget…

Those solitary mirror eyes

of mine?

How could I

ever forget

the beautiful truth they hide…
