Friction
Apathetic empathy distils into rage,
Aphoristic enmity scorches words upon the page,
Frightened of the Boogeyman? For fucks sakes grow up, act your age,
Winterize your heart, your home, your soul and step up on the stage,
Play your part with clarity, have courage in your cold conviction,
Utopia's locked in permafrost, dystopian in its affliction
Hope captured like carbon in its icy grip of malediction,
Grinding ‘gainst the winter lest some heat be raised by stubborn friction,
Our anger, symbiotic with the depths of this regimes oppression,
“Order from chaotic,” is the focus of our dreams obsession,
But each possess the other and the mother of all self confession,
Is acceptance of this fact and the grudging gift of our concession,
But fight the fight with all your might and don’t bow to depression,
To know the wrong and know the right and forge on without retrogression,
To battle through the endless night without fear of dispossession,
Of all hope that the morning light will warm us in its supersession.
