A homeless teenager finds a happy end

I felt lonely even in a house of six,

I was thrown into a blender ,unable to mix.

No-one was close to me, I was shy.

Depressed,traumatised,reaching puberty,ready to die !

I was drawn into a point of desperation,

From my family ,a desire grew for separation.

Angry and sad from my family I took flight,

And slept on the church steps for many a night

It's hard being a young girl on the street,

You never know what you are going to meet.

It can be horrific out there, I must say,

A little bit of kindness can go a long way.

A little bit of kindness thankfully came my way,

The Salvation Army found me  a place to stay.

Feeling alone in a pandemic of our generation,

Due to their kindness I found salvation.

I found a friend in my self in the end,

You have to have a friend to be a friend.

Everyone has to have a best friend in life,

Five years on I am happily married and a wife.

Everyone has to have a best friend in life.

Not everyone is lucky. But this line gives hope. ?
