Covid Woe

Counting down the days left to isolate
I've still 6 days to go, I can hardly wait!
I share this house, just 1 room is mine.
So just 4 walls to stare at, all of the time!

I love my window view, but I need a break.
I feel envy, looking at walks people take.
I see cars passing, and bus number 17c.
I wish a seat on that bus belonged to me.

I look at the white Covid Tents in the park.
They are lit up now, in the evening dark.
That's where I took my test, 4 days ago.
A telephone call followed, letting me know.

It told me I was positive, at home to stay.
With lots of advice to follow without delay.
From my window I saw my daughters below.
They left some food, with kisses to blow!

Played my guitar, watched Columbo on TV.
But family and friends, I can't wait to see.
My own company I can take, for a day or so!
Can't wait to see the back of this Covid woe.
