DOUBLE BLESSING Chapter 1
Chapter 1
In the village of Akpa, there lives a well known farmer called Edozie. Edozie was a very rich and popular farmer. He has more than hectares of lands where he cultivate his crops like; cassava, yam, maize, three-leaf yam, plantain, banana etc both for commercial and subsistence purposes.
Edozie who a bachelor was living big and one day, he decided to get marry.
One day, he was heading to the market to pick up some food stuffs and also sell his goods there. On the way, he was robbed by four robbers, beats him, took away his money and also destroyed some of his goods by smashing some of the tuber crops on the ground. He went home very angry and divested.
That night, he couldn’t sleep, eat and was busy thinking about his life and how the robbers attacked him on the way to the market.
He prayed to God for protection and asks him to grant his heart desires.
After some weeks, a foreigner visited him at his home. The person was a stranger in the land of Akpa decided to help him out due to his hard work, commitment, for his own benefit.
Winifred, who was the stranger and the foreigner, visited Edozie to his place to be his gardener. Edozie knowing the secret of his work started working for the foreigner.
A day later came, when Winifred decided to test Edozie. He went to the garden, dropped a huge amount of money which is not in Nigerian currency, but in dollars and left. Edozie as usual, went to the garden to do his work.
Immediately, he stepped into the garden, he saw something in a scattered form, at first he asked himself, what could that be, he approach to the place. One seeing such huge amount of money, he said, who kept this thing here? He packed all the money and proceeded to this master’s house.
Winifred who was sitting in the living room with his two daughters and wife where watching some movies when Edozie entered.
Kpom! Kpom!!
Edozie knocked, one of the daughters went and opened the door, being a girl, and she doesn’t know who Edozie was. She ran back to tell her father who later went to see the visitor.
On sighting Edozie, who was carrying a big sack on his hand, he said, Edozie the great farmer, you are welcome. He called him in and asks him to make himself comfortable. Anita, who was watching television, left the scene, for she knew that her father want to talk.
Chidera being stubborn went and raised the television volume up in order to distract her father and the visitor (Edozie). Ngozi, who knew who Edozie is through her husband, went to prepare some delicious meal for Edozie. Chidera, when will you hear a word for Christ sake? Will you stupidly leave this place? Her father barked at her and she left in anxiety.
Oga, I came here to tell you something that is important as both of them sat down on the sofa. He brought out the bag and presents it to Winifred. Oga, I saw this thing inside the garden this morning and I decided to bring it to your notice.
What is that? Ask Winifred. His wife being in the kitchen overheard the discussion and came to see what is inside the bag.
Edozie brought out the money which is in dollars and handed it over to Winifred. Winifred knowing what he did with his wife smiled.
From that day, they told Edozie that he is no longer a stranger in their family and he’s free to come in any time he want.
He later gave him some money to add in this farming business. He now became part of Winifred’s family.
