Poetic Imagery
Poetic Imagery
Lost in the wondrous mists of our poetry
Words glazed to protect their depth and mystery
Passions concealed until you glimpse an aside
Dig deep and find where they were buried inside
Along the washed beaches of island shores
Could these be in the Pacific or perchance the Azores
No clues at this moment will I offer to you
Preferring you reach inside and form your unique view
For such is the power of word upon mind
An image projected through type can easily find
A thousand responses from a thousand souls
And in writing our poetry such is one of our goals
For images seen in a film on the screen
Are ready made for you and not part of your dream
But a radio play or book uses words that portray
A different result when in your mindscape it plays
So keep seeking the words of the writers themselves
Reading and listening stretches minds in itself
Couching words into poems and scripts can do such much more
Than potatoes gain from watching their screens I am sure......
