Merry-Go-Round
Everything goes round the same, my friend;
Turn any which way, but when you think you have passed it,
It's on the horizon again.
I can't tell you what you want to hear.
Or shall I pretend that it's all
As you'd like it to be.
You take a deep breath, thinking everything's clear,
But it only takes longer to scream.
It only takes longer to scream.
Everything goes round as before, my friend;
Try hard as you might, you can take every precaution,
You still have the same things in store.
I can't tell you what you want to know.
Or shall I pretend that I've seen
What you want me to see.
You get up again, think the danger is over,
But it only leaves further to fall, my dear
It only leaves further to fall.
Everything that goes around, comes around.
Whatever you do you do not avoid it.
You can't pretend it's any different
Because I can't pretend.

Thank you for commenting Nigel ?
If I dared to risk the consequences
Of tampering with the fabric of time
And the mesh of cause and effect
That this moment and the next is built upon
Then I too, if I could,
Would go back and tell myself many things
That I didn't then know.
