Kaleidoscope - Rehashed
Sat staring blankly through my window pane
Distracted, dismayed by the constant rain
I think of all those young hopes and dreams
Trickling downwards like the rivulet streams
The rain washing those ambitions away
Flowing down the drain for another day
I feel for the young and their hopes and dreams
Now lost and rinsed away in flooding streams
I bring myself around, tell myself I must not dwell
Try to think of the positives, how I can break this spell
Believe that better days are heading our way
Bright blue skies to blow away cloudy grey
We look for rainbows after stormy days
The glimmer of sunshine lights up our way
Warmth of colour is lost in the dark of night
The world seems cold and hostile in black and white
Dream that tomorrow will bring rainbows of hope
Colour and light, turns of a kaleidoscope
