Some people may celebrate
and welcome this "Freedom Day"
Most regulations are lifted  
no going back from today

After sixteen long months
we are nearly restriction free
Encouraged to be careful
and behave responsibly 

Night clubs opened at midnight 
to see in new normal ways
People singing and dancing 
ring in the dawn of carefree days

Mask wearing is now optional
no specific rules in place 
Social distancing is dropped
but remember hands, face, space 

Travel traffic light chaos 
disrupting holiday plans
Causing more disappointment 
than the total travel bans 

Covid cases are rocketing 
track and trace rates sky high
All business is affected 
staff absence the reason why

Across the population
there’s obvious division 
People call into question 
the governments decision  

Freedom Day has arrived 
some will rejoice and celebrate 
The right or wrong decision 
only time will tell our fate
