Shetland
We arrived at Lerwick, Shetland
the British Isles most northern town
We took a tender from the ship
and a tour bus took us around
We are not allowed to roam free
Covid restrictions put in place
We are kept in social bubbles
to keep the cruise ship a safe space
Shetland is bigger than I thought
with over a hundred islands
A landscape of rolling, peat rich hills
and lochs edged with pink red sands
The weather was as expected
dismal, misty, cloudy and grey
I think we were very lucky
the rain stayed away, today
An archipelago in the North Sea
where the people live carefree
Famous for ponies, sheep and wool
wildlife, birds and rugged scenery

Glad to hear you got there, Julie. It sounds a fascinating place.
