A Smile

A Smile

Sometimes I catch myself smiling

it reflects an innocent joy of heart

I brim with a wonder and gladness

at these passing moments, each a blessing

The smile comes from my inner self

prompted by some thought or feeling

Often it is in response to the joy of others

a shared sense of wholesome goodness

God can be seen in these actions

and in the words and actions of others every day

They are glimpses of a divine love

a precious moment of profound sanctity

I wonder what it must be like

to enjoy these moments of intense joy always

Is it perhaps a foretaste of our

heavenly home which awaits us?

I like that this poem is about a smile, and it mad me smile.
Sometimes a smile can be infectious, and it's always good to pass it on.

Whenever I catch myself smiling for no reason, I wonder if a casual observer wonders what I'm thinking of..
