September hails the Hunters Moon
Whose steely light arriving soon
Along with chilling Autumn eves
The rustling grass upon the breeze
Blown away is Summers heat
Gone now evenings drawn and sweet
Parting birds for warmer climes
Leaves the natives far behind
English Autumn comes along
Slight decay with blackbird song
Cackling in alarm at dusk
Skimming by in deep mistrust
Churches with their distant spires
Strike the hours and measure time
Calling out across the field
A thousand years of fates are sealed
And looking up to Hunters Moon
Illuminating Autumns gloom
Across the aeons light has spilled
To light another year fulfilled
Of harvest now brought safely in
Of Christian song that rises Din
Of fires to warm the aching hearts
Of lovers that to death does part.

You've captured Autumn, Ed. Not a time of year I enjoy.
