Cat & Mouse
A little mouse
lives in our house
but the cat just watches
it go in and out,
It does not care
it just discounts
the coming and goings
of the resident mouse,
Cat sleeps away
the hours mount
it snoozes when
it should have pounced,
Mouse rests assured
while cat just pouts
its victory over
the cat pronounced,
The mouse grows fat
it stuffs its mouth
About the cat
we have our doubts.
