Mandate
Poetry is now Mandated
you will read poems written by me
or else
you will lose your job
your wife and family
your good reputation
you will be banned from restaurants
schools and churches
you will be harassed and ridiculed
and driven from society
unless of course
you are a poet yourself
in which case
the mandate does not apply
because you are elite
and don't have to follow any rules
just to be safe though
don your mask and isolate
this poem may mutate.
