Change
It becomes
harder and harder
to adapt to change
our parents knew this
and tried to tell us
but we just laughed
we went on
thinking it would
never happen to us
still change occurred
and now we understand
how it was true
we should have listened
and prepared
but we thought we were immune
now change
has overtaken us
and we wish we could return
but the force of change
is too great to hold back
it barges through the door
we beg for mercy
hoping it will not rob us
of all that we had.

Thought provoking DK. However I think my parents were too busy to worry about change, bringing three of us up on very little money. Sadly we have changed into a society with too much time on our hands (leisure etc) and complain bitterly if anything gets in the way of our ability to do what we want.
