Sea Dog
Tiptoeing in its fragile skin,
a white poodle
dips its toe into the gulf
it senses overwhelmed
it's hair curls up
the roar too much
not used to salty limbs
The poodle stares through salt-washed eyes
growls at the white-capped sea
then makes a beeline down the beach
to the comfort of the canopy.
