The (f)EAR
Standing there with shaking fear
As they stick the needle in my ear
Been swollen for a few days now
Filled with fluid , I don’t know how
Bob is there to hold my hand
Comforts me in where I stand
Cream I’ve tried it didn’t work
Each night returns , by morning hurts
I lie there think nice long walks in the soft warm sun with longer talks
Of animals that scurry round
As we come along go to ground
Then in the car we drive at speed
To the hospital for those in need
Familiar smell, familiar face
Slippy floors not much space
Now I get it, here we are, as he bends down and ums and ahs
Yes that ear is not so good
Another injection I think I should
No you don’t I’ve great big teeth
Bugger off vet, leave me in peace !
